The Attributes of God: Justice

Deuteronomy 32:4 (ESV)
4 “The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.

The Lord always does what is right. He is the Judge of all the earth and his ways are always right and fair. As Abraham commented concerning the upcoming judgement on Sodom, “Far be it from you to do such a thing, to put the righteous to death with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?” (Genesis 18:25, ESV).

This is a comforting doctrine for all of us because it means that the righteous judgements that we all desire, that evil will be condemned, will one day take place when the just Judge speaks the final word. We can trust in him and place our hope in good triumphing over evil once and for all. That is the hope we all need.
