Reading the Word
Psalm 92:5–9 (ESV)
5 How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep! 6 The stupid man cannot know; the fool cannot understand this: 7 that though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to destruction forever; 8 but you, O Lord, are on high forever. 9 For behold, your enemies, O Lord, for behold, your enemies shall perish; all evildoers shall be scattered.
Understanding and Applying the Word
Worship changes our perspective. When we have a God-centered understanding of reality, which worship gives us, we are able to truly understand the world around us. Those who live their lives without God and try to make sense of the world without him are described as “stupid” and “foolish”.
We all seek to make sense of the world. Where are you looking for the answers to life’s biggest questions: Why am I here? How did I get here? Where am I going? What is the purpose of life? It is by centering our lives on God that we are able to find the answers to these questions and find the fulfillment that the answers bring. Seek the Lord and praise him for his works!
